This Saturday, Aug. 4, IN COOPERATION WITH MUSCLE NATION. A Collective will bring a little light to Dragon Street, with their own spin on what “light” really means to today’s generations.

They will set up in the vacant Goodyear Retread Plant at 960 Dragon St. with the idea that vital nutrients (like water and light) “sink” into the landscapes in which they are stored and used. MUSCLE NATION will be focusing their exhibit on lights — TVs, flashlights, strobe lights, night lights, etc. — and “sinking them into the barren landscape of the Goodyear Retread Plant.”

According to their press release:

“We live in a world of bright lights and video screens. Our ‘sunlight’ is artificial, but it feeds our souls. Our gardens are illuminated by TV flowers; our plants are pop cultural explosions. We sink into pop to get our nutrients to live. It’s simple really: we all just tune in and tune out to the lights around us.”

IN COOPERATION WITH MUSCLE NATION is made up of artists Robin Myrick, Emily Loving, Hillary Holsonback, Danielle Georgiou, Sandi Edgar, Val Curry, Willie Baronet, Andy Amato, and guest artist Cody Ross. Slik Stockings will also be giving a special performance.

Stop by 960 Dragon to check it out during this Saturday’s Dragon.open art stroll from 8 to 10 p.m. Since most other galleries will be closing around 8 or 9, and since the best days always end with ‘N Sync music, it’ll be a great place to end your night!
