Dallas Handmade Arts Market Opens Labor Day Weekend in the Design District

Sometimes, it’s hard to track down quality, handmade items in your area; especially when the market seems to be inundated with stuff like this.

Luckily, a new indoor venue is opening up in the Design District on Sept. 1 that will do some of the curating for you. Dedicated specifically to local handmade art, photography, fashion, decor and gifts, Dallas Handmade Arts Market will feature up to 50 different artists each weekend, offering a one-stop shop for unique artisanal items.

The Market, located at 327 Cole Street, will also feature live music from local musicians and complimentary “Wine Walk Saturdays” and “Beer Browse Sundays.” Booths can be rented by the weekend, ensuring a new and eclectic group of artists every time you visit.

Jorge Herrera, President and Chief Artist Herder says, “Many handmade artists have other, full-time jobs or can only produce small quantities of their products, so it doesn’t make sense for them to open their own store. Instead, they can rent a weekend booth and connect with shoppers who appreciate handmade quality and feel good about supporting the Dallas arts community.”

The hours of the Market are:

Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.(5-7 p.m. Wine Walk)

Sundays: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (3-5 p.m. Beer Browse)
