Happy hour at Bridge Bistro

Added to my list of happy hour spots in the Design District is Bridge Bistro, who, though open since the holidays, just recently acquired their liquor license and apparently know exactly what to do with it.

Their list of bridge-themed cocktails includes the “Calatrava” sangria martini, “Pont Neuf” champagne cocktail, “Pontchartrain” with whiskey, absinthe and sugar cane, and the “Golden Gate” with tequila, agave nectar and orange juice. If you’d had a really stressful day, you can always order the “Bering Strait,” a freezing-cold 100 proof shot of Stolichnaya vodka served in an ice glass.

Happy hour starts at 3 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and Bridge Bistro has a number of bar snacks to choose from to accompany your drink selection — think gourmet cheeses, herb stuffed mushrooms and onion rings. Check out their full menu here.
